My Process

I approach my paintings with curiosity, seeking to explore the the physical, chemical and emotional relationship between colors and life. I begin each concept with a focus on a color scheme, specific technique, and present mood. I prefer creating during spontaneous moments, usually at random times of the evening. Other than those processes, the end result is rarely planned and always a mystery, (hopefully) resulting in a pleasant surprise.

“…it’s worth repeating that there are no colors in nature, only light.” - Ernest Chesneau

Other than the four abstracts, I do not use conventional methods for art creation such as paint brushes and tube paints. I mix multiple fluid mediums with custom mixed soft body colors and apply them to canvas or panel with a combination of movement, forced air or swiping tools. Blow torches, alcohol, spray paints, and ground pumice stone help achieve some of the detailed results.
